Custom APIs
APIs your partners can build on.
We design, build and run APIs for your own apps, your partners or the public. Clear contracts, real docs, keys and limits for each caller, and webhooks that arrive. You see the price and the weeks before you start.

// how we build it
Contract first, then code.
- We agree the contract with you before we build: resources, errors, limits and examples, in an OpenAPI file you own.
- Every endpoint is tested against the contract, so the docs and the API never disagree.
- We load-test to the uptime target you choose, and show you the results before launch.
- Latency, errors and uptime are watched from day one, with alerts to us.
// stack
What we usually build with.
- contract
- OpenAPI 3.1, or a GraphQL schema, kept in your repository
- runtime
- TypeScript on Node.js, with queues for webhooks and retries
- data
- PostgreSQL, with Redis for caching and rate limits
- auth
- API keys, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, or mutual TLS
- hosting
- DigitalOcean by default, AWS where your region needs it, or your own cloud
// a typical first project
A partner API with docs.
Eight resources, API keys and OAuth 2.0, a gateway with rate limits, versioning, monitoring and an OpenAPI reference. Open it in the estimator to see what it would cost.
// questions
API questions.
REST or GraphQL?
REST suits most partners and public callers. GraphQL suits your own apps when screens need data from many places. We can build both on one service.
Who owns the API?
You do: the code, the contract, the keys and the accounts it runs on. We hand everything over, and can run it for you on a support plan.
How do you keep it fast?
Caching, indexes and limits for each caller, then load tests to the target you pick before launch. Monitoring shows the latency every day after.
Can it join our other systems?
Yes. An integration hub puts one API in front of your ERP, CRM and other tools. Each system it joins is priced as its own connector.
What does it cost to run?
Hosting and support are in the estimate. Busy public APIs cost more to run, and the estimate shows it by size and region.
