EPC project software

We build where the big platforms stop.

Keep your material, document, schedule and ERP systems. We build the parts they do not cover: the laydown yard and site warehouse, offline field tools, RFID and GPS tracking, the integrations between your systems and the dashboards that finally join their data.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

The gap between MTO and the yard

The materials system knows what was ordered and shipped. Nobody knows, with confidence, which crate in which row of the laydown yard holds the spool the crew needs tomorrow.

02

Vendor data, late and wrong

Vendor documents cycle through review by email and spreadsheets, so a late datasheet holds up a design package and nobody can say how late it is.

03

Paper completions on remote sites

Check sheets and punch lists live on clipboards and in spreadsheets, so the handover certificate waits weeks for someone to reconcile them.

04

Progress that is a week old

Installed quantities, the schedule in P6 and the earned value are in three places, so the progress report is a manual job and always behind the work.

Laydown yard app with RFID

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

On a large mining or processing project, crews lose hours finding materials the materials system says were received, and surplus is only found at the end of the job.

// What we would build

A yard and site warehouse app on rugged Android devices that reads RFID and barcodes, works offline at the far end of the site, locates crates and large items by GPS, and keeps receiving, preservation and issue to construction in step with SmartPlant Materials and SAP through their APIs.

// What is in it

  • Receiving against POs and packing lists, with heat numbers and MTR certificates attached to each item
  • Laydown yard and warehouse locations by row and bay, found by RFID read, GPS or scan
  • Preservation schedules and inspections, with reminders and photos
  • Issue to construction against work packages, and surplus at close-out
  • Offline on site, with an edge box per remote area that syncs when the link returns
  • Integrates with SmartPlant Materials and SAP through their APIs; you supply the access

// Stack

  • Next.js
  • React Native
  • PostgreSQL
  • RFID readers and on-metal tags
  • Azure with Entra ID sign-in
  • Edge gateways on site

Vendor portal with Aconex

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Hundreds of vendors submit drawings and datasheets for review, and the review cycles, comments and overdue items are tracked in spreadsheets beside Aconex.

// What we would build

A vendor data portal that sets each purchase order's required documents, tracks every review cycle and return code, chases what is overdue and exchanges transmittals with Aconex through its API, with dashboards by package and by vendor.

// What is in it

  • A vendor document register generated from each PO's requirements
  • Review cycles with return codes, comments and due dates
  • Transmittals in and out of Aconex through its API
  • Overdue and at-risk documents by package, vendor and discipline
  • Turnover and handover packages assembled from the approved set

Completions and commissioning app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Mechanical completion and commissioning on a remote site run on paper check sheets and punch lists, and certificates wait for someone to reconcile them in a spreadsheet.

// What we would build

A completions system on tablets that works offline: systems and subsystems, A, B and C check sheets, punch lists with photos, and handover certificates (MC, RFC, RFSU) signed on the device, synced to a server on site and to head office when the link allows.

// What is in it

  • Systems and subsystems, with tags and check sheets imported from the engineering data
  • A, B and C check sheets completed offline, with photos and signatures
  • Punch lists by category, with ownership and clear-out tracking
  • MC, RFC and RFSU certificates generated when their prerequisites are met

  • Dashboards of completion by system, area and contractor

Earned-value dashboard with P6

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Installed quantities come from the field, the schedule from Primavera P6 and costs from the ERP, so earned value is rebuilt by hand every week.

// What we would build

A progress platform that takes installed quantities from field tools, applies your rules of credit, reads the P6 schedule and ERP costs through their APIs, and shows earned value and progress against the schedule by area, discipline and contractor.

  • Rules of credit by commodity, set by your project controls team

On-premise spec search assistant

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Engineers search thousands of specifications, drawings and vendor documents to answer one question, and contract terms mean those documents cannot go to an outside model.

// What we would build

An assistant on an open-source model running on a GPU server in your own data centre that answers from specifications, drawings and vendor data with the page it came from, prepares MTO checks and flags inconsistencies between documents for an engineer to check.

// What is in it

  • Specifications, datasheets and vendor documents indexed and kept in sync
  • Answers that cite the document and page they came from
  • MTO checks drafted against the specs, for an engineer to check
  • Flags where two documents disagree on a value
  • An evaluation set from real questions, run before every change

Document register off spreadsheets

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

An engineering firm's document control runs on a large shared spreadsheet with macros nobody can maintain, and transmittals and revision histories are reconstructed by hand when a client asks.

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work for global EPC firms or owners?

Both. We build for EPC and EPCM firms and for owners' project teams. We will not name clients, and these examples are hypothetical.

Which sectors?

Mining and minerals processing; oil, gas and chemicals; the energy transition, including hydrogen, CCS, renewables, transmission and battery plants; and infrastructure and water.

Can it run in our Azure tenant?

Yes, behind Entra ID single sign-on, or on our hosting, with optional servers or edge boxes on site for remote areas.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Will our security review hold things up?

Large firms run long IT security reviews and vendor onboarding, and the estimate shows that wait. We support it with our documentation, and SOC 2 or ISO 27001 readiness work can be scoped with you.

// where we work

We work from Kelowna with clients across Canada, the United States and further afield. Each market page covers working hours, hosting, the privacy law that applies, and prices in your currency.
