// in short
Do not use what we build, host or run to break the law, harm people, attack systems or send spam. If we find a problem, we tell you and ask you to fix it, and we suspend only what we must, when we must.
01What this covers
This policy is set by Atheron Network Inc., a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada.
It applies to anything we host or run for you, to the software we build while we support it, and to our own sites, client portal and support chat. It is part of our master services agreement. You are responsible for how your users use your product, and for passing these rules on to them.
02What is not allowed
- Anything unlawful where it is done or where it is aimed, or helping someone else do it.
- Content that sexually exploits children, promotes terrorism or violent extremism, or incites violence or hatred against people for who they are.
- Harassing, threatening or defrauding people, or impersonating someone to deceive.
- Infringing copyright, trademarks or other rights, or publishing someone's private information without the right to.
- Collecting or using personal information without a lawful basis, or in ways the people concerned were not told about.
- Sending commercial messages without consent, contrary to Canada's anti-spam law and the rules of the place they are sent to, or without a working way to unsubscribe.
- Phishing, malware, or anything built to harm or take over other people's devices or accounts.
- Probing, scanning or testing the security of our systems, or another client's, without our written permission, or getting around access controls or limits.
- Attacking any system, or using our hosting to flood, disrupt or overload one.
- Mining cryptocurrency, or running anything that uses far more resources than the plan sizes it for, on hosting we run, unless your SOW provides for it.
- Offering services that need a licence or registration you do not hold, such as money services, securities, gambling or regulated health advice.
- Trying to make our AI assistant ignore its instructions, reveal them, or act outside what it is for.
03Reporting a weakness
If you find a security weakness in our systems, tell us rather than test it further. We will work with you on it and will not take action against good-faith research that stops at finding the weakness.
Report it to security@aton-network.org.
04Reporting abuse
If you see something hosted or run by us that breaks this policy, tell us, with a link and what you saw. We look at every report.
Write to legal@aton-network.org.
05What we do
When we find or are told about a problem with a client's project, we tell the client's owners and ask them to fix it within a reasonable time for its seriousness.
We suspend only the part that is causing it, and without waiting, only where there is a risk of serious harm to people or systems, where the law requires it, or where a court or authority orders it. We tell you as soon as we can, and restore it once the problem is fixed.
Repeated or serious breaches are a material breach of the master services agreement, and we may end the affected service. Where the law requires, we report illegal content to the authorities.
06Changes
We may update this policy as the law and the risks change. A new version applies from its date, and every version stays readable on this page.
07Language
This policy is published in English and in French. Both versions are equally authoritative.
