Capped resale

Resale at the price you set, and nowhere else.

A resale cap only works if every resale goes through a place you control. Issuing tickets as tokens with the cap written into the contract does that, and lets the gate check who holds a ticket now. If a cap on your own marketplace is all you need, a database does it more simply, and we will build that instead.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

The cap travels with the ticket

The resale price limit is part of the ticket's contract, so it applies to every resale.

02

Fans never need a wallet

Fans buy and resell by card in your marketplace. A wallet is there for those who want one.

03

Copies do not get in

The gate scan checks the ticket's current holder, so a screenshot sold twice is caught.

04

Audited before launch

The contracts are reviewed by an independent auditor before the first ticket is sold.

Tickets with fair resale

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A festival's tickets resell at many times face value on sites it does not control, and fans who buy there are sometimes turned away with copied tickets.

// What we would build

Tickets issued as tokens on a public chain, with resale only through the festival's own marketplace at a price cap the festival sets, and the scan at the gate checking the current holder. Fans pay by card and never need a wallet unless they want one. If you only need a resale cap, a database-backed marketplace does that more simply, and we will say so.

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Why put event tickets on a blockchain at all?

Only when you want the resale rules to follow the ticket outside your own site. If you control every resale, a database is simpler.

Do festival fans pay crypto for tokenised tickets?

No. Fans pay by card in your marketplace. The chain records who holds each ticket.

Which chain do the resale tickets run on?

Usually a low-cost network such as Base, so a resale costs a fan cents in network fees. We agree it with you first.
