Patient portals

A portal and app built around how your clinics book.

Most patient portals are an add-on to the EMR, and patients give up halfway through booking. We build the portal and the app around how your clinics book, remind and take payment, and connect them to the practice system your front desk already uses.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

One calendar, not two

Bookings write to your practice management system through its interface, so the front desk never reconciles an online calendar against the real one.

02

Forms done before the visit

Intake, history and consent forms are filled in on the phone at home and stored with the chart, so the waiting room has no clipboards.

03

Health data kept in Canada

Records are hosted in a Canadian region with access logged per user. We build to PIPEDA and the provincial health privacy acts with your privacy officer.

04

Fewer no-shows without more calls

Reminders go by push, text or email, and a patient can confirm or rebook from the message itself.

// example projects

Priced examples for this service.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Patient portal with a mobile app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A group of physiotherapy and dental clinics books every appointment by phone, sends reminders by hand and collects intake forms on clipboards in the waiting room.

// What we would build

A patient portal and an iOS and Android app for booking, intake forms, reminders and payments, connected to the clinics' practice management system so the front desk sees one calendar.

// What is in it

  • Online booking against real clinician availability, per clinic
  • Intake and consent forms filled in before the visit, stored with the chart
  • Reminders by push, text and email, with rebooking from the message
  • Payments and receipts for services not covered by public plans
  • English and French throughout
  • Health data hosted in a Canadian region, with access logged

// Stack

  • Next.js
  • React Native
  • PostgreSQL
  • Practice management system API
  • Stripe
  • AWS (Canada region)

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Will it work with our EMR or practice system?

Usually, through the system's own interface or an integration partner it approves. We confirm what your system allows before we quote.

Can patients pay for uninsured services in the app?

Yes. Card payments and receipts go through a payment processor, so card numbers never touch your systems.

Where is patient data stored by the portal?

In a Canadian cloud region by default, encrypted at rest and in transit, with every access by staff recorded.
