Credentials that verify themselves

Certificates, licences and memberships issued as verifiable credentials can be checked by anyone with the link and revoked by the issuer.

Audit trails that cannot be edited

Anchoring a log of decisions or records on a chain proves later that nothing was changed, without putting the contents in public.

Verifiable licences and permits

Licences and permits issued as verifiable credentials the holder keeps on their phone, signed by the government, with a permissioned ledger operated by participating public bodies that lists issuers and revocations so anyone can check one in seconds. If only one office issues and checks, a signed database record is simpler.
