Banking software

Your risk team can sign it off, and members will open it.

Your bank or credit union carries decades of systems, and your regulator reads the change log. We build the portals, models and shared records that sit beside your core. The controls are written in from the start, not bolted on before an exam.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Commercial lending by email

A business loan moves through attachments, a credit memo in a word processor and a spreadsheet of covenants, and the borrower cannot see where their file is.

02

AML alerts nobody can clear

Transaction monitoring raises far more alerts than analysts can work, most of them false, and the real ones wait in the same queue.

03

The same customer, rechecked

Every institution repeats the same identity and beneficial ownership checks on the same business, and the customer sends the same documents each time.

04

Policy that lives in binders

Branch staff search a shared drive of procedures and bulletins for the current rule, and the answer they find is often the old one.

// example projects

Systems we could build for you.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Commercial loan portal and app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Business loan applications arrive by email, credit memos are written from scratch, and the borrower calls the branch to find out where their file stands.

// What we would build

A web portal for account managers and credit adjudicators with an iOS and Android app for business owners, carrying the file from application through adjudication and covenant monitoring, connected to the core banking system.

// What is in it

  • Application, document collection and status in the business owner's app
  • A credit memo assembled from the file, not retyped
  • Adjudication workflow with delegated limits and a full audit trail
  • Covenant and reporting reminders after the loan is funded
  • Integration with the core banking system and the credit bureau
  • English and French for borrowers and staff

// Stack

  • Next.js
  • React Native
  • PostgreSQL
  • Core banking integration
  • Credit bureau API

AML alert triage on your servers

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Transaction monitoring produces a queue of alerts analysts cannot clear, and true suspicious activity waits behind thousands of false positives.

// What we would build

A custom model fine-tuned on the bank's own closed alerts and analyst notes, running on GPU servers in the bank's data centre so customer transactions never leave it, that ranks each alert and explains why for the analyst who decides.

// What is in it

  • A model fine-tuned on your past alerts and how analysts closed them
  • Each alert ranked with the transactions and patterns behind the score
  • The analyst decides and writes the case; the model never files a report
  • Measured against a held-out set of closed alerts before it goes live, and on a schedule after
  • Runs on servers in your data centre, with no data sent outside

Shared KYC for credit unions

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Several credit unions verify the same business members and their beneficial owners separately, and each keeps its own copy of documents that go out of date.

// What we would build

A private permissioned ledger where each participating credit union runs a node and records that a check was done, by whom and when, while the documents themselves stay with the institution that collected them. A consortium with one trusted operator could use a shared database instead.

// What is in it

  • A node for each participating credit union
  • A record of each check: who did it, when and to what standard, without the documents
  • Consent from the member before another institution relies on a check
  • Alerts when a check is about to expire
  • A web console for compliance staff in English and French

Assistant for branch staff

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Front-line staff search a shared drive of procedures, bulletins and rate sheets to answer a member's question, and often find an out-of-date version.

// What we would build

An assistant that answers from the current procedures only and cites the document and section, on an open-source model served in the bank's own AWS account in Canada so internal policy stays inside it.

// What is in it

  • Procedures, bulletins and forms indexed, with retired versions excluded
  • Answers that cite the document, section and effective date
  • Owners of each procedure see the questions asked about it
  • An evaluation set of real branch questions, run before every update

Member data warehouse and reports

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A credit union's board and management reports are assembled each month from core banking extracts, the lending system and spreadsheets, and two reports rarely show the same number.

// What we would build

Loan desk app, modernised

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A credit union's lending staff use an in-house desktop application for applications and approvals that only one contractor understands, and every change is slow and risky.

// What we would build

A modernisation in stages: we document what the old application does, write tests that pin its behaviour, then rebuild it screen by screen as a web app, running both side by side until the new one gives the same answers.

// What is in it

  • The old application's rules written down and tested
  • Rebuilt screen by screen, never all at once
  • Both run side by side until the results match
  • Approval history carried across with its audit trail

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work within OSFI and provincial rules?

Yes. We build to the requirements your risk and compliance teams set out, including OSFI guidelines on technology and third-party risk and your provincial regulator's expectations. We do not give legal advice and do not hold attestations on your behalf.

Do you work with credit unions as well as banks?

Yes, and with groups of credit unions building something together. We are in British Columbia and work with institutions anywhere; prices are in Canadian dollars.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the code and the models?

You do, once the work is paid for, including any model trained on your data and the validation evidence for it.
