Cannabis software

Licence records from the clone room to the counter.

As a licensed producer, you are judged on whether every plant, batch and lot can be accounted for. As a retailer, on whether every customer was of age. We build the systems that keep those records as the work happens, so your monthly report and your next inspection start from data, not a scramble.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Plants and lots in spreadsheets

Plants, harvests, batches and lots move through rooms and processes faster than the spreadsheet is updated, and inventory variances appear at month end.

02

Monthly reports assembled by hand

The monthly tracking report to Health Canada is rebuilt from several systems each month, and a mismatch means days of reconciliation.

03

Labels checked line by line

Every product label carries regulated content, and each change of potency, lot or package means re-checking labels by eye before they print.

04

Age checks that depend on the day

ID checks at the door rely on staff judgement, and online orders need an age check that does not lose every second customer.

Seed-to-sale with labels

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A licensed producer with cultivation and processing tracks plants, batches and lots in spreadsheets, and its quality assurance person rebuilds the monthly Health Canada tracking report by hand.

// What we would build

A web system and an Android app on rugged scanners that follow every plant, harvest, batch and lot through rooms and processes by barcode, record destruction and samples, prepare the monthly tracking report from the records for the quality assurance person to review, and print compliance labels from approved templates. We scope the reporting with your quality assurance person; we do not give legal advice.

// What is in it

  • Plants, harvests, batches and lots tracked by barcode through every room and process
  • Destruction, samples and losses recorded with witnesses and reasons
  • The monthly report for the Cannabis Tracking and Licensing System (CTLS) prepared from the records, for your review before it is filed
  • Compliance labels printed from templates your quality assurance person approves
  • Sales and shipments to provincial distributors recorded against each lot
  • Rugged scanners, mobile computers, label printers and labels listed by quantity

Retail store with age checks

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A licensed retailer with several stores checks ID by eye at the door, takes online orders without a reliable age check, and reconciles its POS with its books by hand.

// What we would build

An online store with an age check before anything is shown and identity verification through a vendor such as Didit or Persona at checkout, ID scanners at the store door, inventory and sales from the POS, and daily sales posted to QuickBooks Online, built on the QuickBooks Online API. Promotion rules are set with your advisers, and nothing is designed to appeal to young people.

// What is in it

  • An age gate before any product is shown, and identity verification at checkout
  • ID scanners at the door that read the barcode on the back of a licence
  • Click and collect with the ID checked again at pickup
  • Inventory and sales read from the POS, in English and French
  • Daily sales summaries posted to QuickBooks Online

Certificate of analysis registry

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Retailers and provincial buyers ask a producer for the certificate of analysis behind each lot, and PDFs passed along by email can be edited or attached to the wrong lot.

// What we would build

A registry where the testing lab uploads each certificate of analysis against the producer's lot, recorded on a private permissioned ledger the producer and the lab each run a node of, with a QR code on each case that shows buyers the certificate for that lot. A signed PDF with a lookup page often does this job; the ledger helps when several producers and labs share one registry.

// What is in it

  • Certificates uploaded by the lab against the producer's lot number
  • Each certificate fingerprinted on a private chain with a node for producer and lab
  • QR codes on cases that show buyers the certificate for that lot
  • Alerts when a lot is labelled before its certificate is in
  • Test results shown as reported by the lab, with no claims added

Quality assistant over your SOPs

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Quality and production staff search hundreds of standard operating procedures and past deviation records to find the right step, and new staff ask the quality assurance person for everything.

// What we would build

An assistant that answers from the producer's own SOPs and deviation records and cites the document and section, on an open-source model hosted in the producer's own cloud account so the documents stay private.

// What is in it

  • SOPs, work instructions and deviation records indexed and kept current
  • Answers that cite the SOP and section they come from
  • Only the approved, current version of each SOP is used
  • An open-source model served on GPUs in your own cloud account

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work with licence holders across Canada?

Yes. We are in British Columbia and work with licensed producers, processors and retailers anywhere in Canada; prices are in Canadian dollars.

Do you give legal or regulatory advice?

No. We scope and build to the requirements your quality assurance person and your advisers set.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the software?

You do, once the work is paid for, including the label templates and integrations.

// where we work

Find your market.

We work from Kelowna with clients across Canada, the United States and further afield. Each market page covers working hours, hosting, the privacy law that applies, and prices in your currency.
