Franchise system rescue

An orphaned intranet, reviewed and rebuilt.

Many franchisors run ordering or reporting on an intranet built by a vendor that has gone. It still works, but nobody can change it and it sits on one server. We review it first, tell you plainly what is at risk, and then rebuild what you need on software you own.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

A review you can act on

A written architecture review for your leadership team: what the system does, where the data is and what could fail.

02

A rebuild that follows the review

We rebuild what the review says you need, and drop what nobody uses.

03

Distributors kept connected

EDI and supplier connections moved across and tested before the switch.

04

Run properly afterwards

Managed hosting with monitoring, backups and updates, so the next vendor change is not a crisis.

Supplier ordering, rescued

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A franchisor's ordering intranet, built by a vendor that has since closed, takes franchisee orders for approved supplies and sends them to its distributor, runs on one ageing server, and nobody on staff can change it.

// What we would build

We start with an architecture review of the old system: what it does, where the data is, what is at risk. Then we rebuild ordering as a supported web system, connect it to your distributor by EDI, and move it to managed cloud hosting with monitoring, backups and updates. The review is a fixed first step; the build follows from what it finds.

// What is in it

  • An architecture review of the old intranet, written for your leadership team
  • Ordering from your approved supplier list, with par levels per location
  • Orders sent to your distributor by EDI, with acknowledgements back
  • Order history and spend by location and category
  • Managed hosting with monitoring, backups and updates
  • The old server retired once the new system is proven

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Our franchise intranet vendor has closed. Can you work without their source code?

Often, yes. We work from the running system, its database and its outputs. The review says plainly what can and cannot be recovered.

Will franchisees be able to order during the switch to the new system?

Yes. The old and new systems run side by side, and we switch one region at a time.

Can the architecture review be done before we commit to a rebuild?

Yes. It is the first part of the project, and you can stop after it with a plan that is yours.

Not quite your project?

Tell us what you have in mind. We will come back to you with a range and the questions that would narrow it. Or book a call and talk it through.
