Timestamped deliverables

Proof of what you issued, and when.

When a dispute turns on which version was issued and when, file server dates are easy to question. A fingerprint recorded on a public chain at issue is not. If an internal log your clients already trust is enough, a database is cheaper and we will build that instead.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

Content stays private

Only a fingerprint goes on the chain. The file itself never leaves your systems.

02

Anyone can check it

Anyone with the file can confirm it matches the fingerprint recorded at issue.

03

A register of issues

What was issued, to whom and when, in one register your team can search.

04

Audited before launch

The contract is reviewed by an independent auditor before it is used.

Timestamped deliverables

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

An engineering firm is sometimes asked to prove which version of a report or drawing it issued, and when, and its file server dates are easy to dispute.

// What we would build

Each issued deliverable's fingerprint is recorded on a public blockchain at the moment it is issued, so the firm can later show that a file existed in that exact form at that time without revealing its contents. If an internal log your clients already trust is enough, a database is simpler, and we will say so.

// What is in it

  • A fingerprint of each issued file recorded at issue
  • Proof of exact content and time, without revealing the file
  • A register of what was issued, to whom and when
  • Checkable by anyone with the file
  • Contracts audited before launch

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Why timestamp deliverables on a blockchain instead of a database?

Because a public chain cannot be quietly changed by the firm itself. If your clients already trust your own log, a database is enough.

Does anyone see our reports on the blockchain?

No. Only a fingerprint is recorded, from which the file cannot be rebuilt.

Do our clients need a wallet to check a timestamp?

No. They can check a file on a web page. The chain stays behind the scenes.
