Fair resale tickets

Web3 season tickets with a resale cap that travels.

Fair resale is a rule about who can sell a seat and for how much. Written into a smart contract, the rule travels with the ticket, which is the narrow case where a chain helps a club. If your ticketing provider already caps resale and you trust it, keep it.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

The cap travels with the ticket

Resale above the club's cap is refused by the contract itself, not by a policy page.

02

No wallet needed to go to the game

Fans can hold tickets in a regular club account; a wallet is an option, never a requirement.

03

Fakes stopped at the gate

Scanners check the current holder on the chain, so a copied or already-resold ticket does not get in.

04

Audited before the season

An independent auditor reviews the contracts before a single seat is issued.

Season tickets, fair resale

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A club's season ticket holders resell seats on outside sites at prices the club cannot cap, and fans regularly arrive with tickets that are fake or already used.

// What we would build

Season tickets issued as tokens with a resale cap and a club-approved marketplace written into audited smart contracts, so a seat changes hands at a fair price and the gate checks the current holder. If your ticketing provider already offers capped resale you trust, keep it; this suits clubs that want the rules in their own hands.

// What is in it

  • Season tickets issued to holders, with or without a wallet
  • Resale only through the club marketplace, at or under the cap
  • Gate scanning that checks the current holder of each seat
  • An independent audit of the contracts before the season
  • Tickets for entry only, never sold as investments

// Stack

  • Solidity
  • An EVM layer two network
  • wagmi and viem
  • Next.js
  • Stripe

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Why tokens rather than our ticketing resale?

If your provider already caps resale and you are content with it, there is no need. Tokens suit clubs that want the resale rules, and the marketplace, in their own hands.

Do fans pay network fees to transfer a ticket?

On a low-fee layer two network the fee is very small, and the club can cover it so fans never see it.

Can a season ticket token be sold as an investment?

No. Tickets are for entry and capped at resale, and we never design or describe them as something to make money from.
