Public safety software

Built to pass your security review.

Your incidents are dispatched in one system and written up in another. Evidence goes in a binder, and the public hears from a third tool. We build the systems that join those steps, work in a car with no signal and stand up to the security review your agency will run.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Reports written twice

Officers and members take notes in the field and type the report at the station, re-entering what the dispatch system already knows about the call.

02

Evidence logged in a binder

Items and digital files move between the property room, the lab and court with signatures on paper, and a gap in the log is found when it matters most.

03

Mutual aid by phone

When a neighbouring department needs an engine or a crew, availability is checked by calling around, and nobody has the whole region's picture.

04

Alerts from three tools

Staff call-outs, public notices and evacuation updates go out from different systems, with different wording and no single record of who was told what.

// example projects

Systems we could build for you.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Offline incident report app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A police service's members take notes in the car, return to the station to type reports, and re-enter call details the dispatch system already holds.

// What we would build

An iOS and Android app and a web workspace that start each report from the dispatched call, work offline in the car, capture photos and statements, route reports for supervisor review and keep a full audit trail. Built to pass the service's security review, with that review shown as a lead time.

// What is in it

  • Reports started from the CAD incident, with call details already filled in
  • Notes, photos, statements and signatures captured offline
  • Supervisor review and return for changes, with every version kept
  • Audit trail of every view and change, by user and time
  • English and French forms where your service needs both

Evidence chain of custody record

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A police service tracks physical and digital evidence on paper logs between the property room, the forensic lab and court, and each transfer depends on a signature that can go missing.

// What we would build

Barcoded evidence labels printed at intake, every transfer scanned and signed, and digital files fingerprinted at intake with each fingerprint and transfer recorded on a private ledger the service and its partner forensic lab each run a node of, on servers the service controls. A well-audited database with signed logs often does this job alone, and we will say so.

// What is in it

  • Barcode labels printed at intake and scanned at every transfer
  • Digital files fingerprinted so any change after intake shows
  • Transfers, signatures and locations recorded on a private ledger
  • Disclosure packages exported with the full custody history
  • Servers on premises, with label printers and scanners listed by quantity

Fire mutual aid tracking

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Departments in a region arrange mutual aid by phone, cannot see which engines and crews are available next door, and volunteer availability lives in a group chat.

// What we would build

A regional web board and app showing apparatus and crew availability across departments, reading incidents from the dispatch centre, with volunteer availability set from a phone and call-outs sent to the right members.

// What is in it

  • Apparatus and crew availability across the region, live
  • Mutual aid requests sent, accepted and tracked to release
  • Volunteer availability and call-outs from the app
  • Incidents read from the regional dispatch centre
  • Hours and call-outs for each member, for pay and training records

On-premise report checker

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Supervisors return a large share of reports for missing elements, and officers wait days to find out a report needs a change.

// What we would build

An assistant that checks a report against the service's own report standards before it is submitted, pointing out missing elements and inconsistencies for the officer to fix. It never writes the narrative. It runs on an open-source model on a GPU server inside the service, so no report leaves the building.

// What is in it

  • Your report standards and policies indexed as the reference
  • Missing elements and inconsistencies pointed out before submission
  • The officer writes and changes the report; the assistant only comments
  • An open-source model on a GPU server on premises, with no outside calls
  • An evaluation set from past returned reports, run before every change

Public alerting and evacuation app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A regional emergency management office tells residents about wildfires and floods through social media, a website and a sign-up list, and evacuation orders reach some people hours late.

// What we would build

An iOS and Android app and a web console for alerts by area, evacuation orders and alerts, reception centres and updates, in English and French, with each message's wording, area and time recorded. It complements the national public alerting system; it does not replace it.

// What is in it

  • Alerts drawn on a map and sent to the people in that area
  • Evacuation orders and alerts, reception centres and road closures
  • English and French messages, with templates prepared in advance
  • Push, SMS and email, with a record of what was sent to whom and when

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work with agencies outside British Columbia?

Yes. We are in British Columbia and work with agencies anywhere in Canada; prices are in Canadian dollars.

Why do your estimates include a security review?

Because every agency runs one, and it often takes longer than parts of the build. Showing it as a lead time keeps the plan realistic.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the code?

Your agency does, once the work is paid for, including the integrations and any models.

// where we work

Find your market.

We work from Kelowna with clients across Canada, the United States and further afield. Each market page covers working hours, hosting, the privacy law that applies, and prices in your currency.
