Dangerous goods data

Transport data entered once, from the approved SDS.

The UN number, class and packing group for each product are already in your approved SDS. Retyping them into the order, the warehouse system and each carrier's site is where mismatches start. An integration hub enters them once and passes them on, and your trained staff check the result.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

From the approved record

Transport information comes from the SDS records your regulatory lead approved, not from a copy.

02

Mismatches held

If the order and the SDS disagree, the shipment waits for a person before anything is booked.

03

Checked and signed by your staff

Shipping documents are prepared from the data for your trained dangerous goods staff to check and sign.

04

Built on published APIs

Each carrier, ERP and warehouse connector uses the system's published API. We check yours before we quote.

// example projects

Priced examples for this service.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Example projectAPI

Dangerous goods data hub

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A chemical distributor retypes UN numbers, classes and packing groups from the SDS and the order into two carriers' systems and its warehouse system, and a mismatch holds shipments at the dock.

// What we would build

An integration hub that takes the transport information from the approved SDS records and the order from the ERP, and passes it to the warehouse system and the carriers' booking APIs, so it is entered once. Shipping documents are prepared from this data for your trained dangerous goods staff to check and sign. Each connector is built on the system's published API; we check yours before we quote.

// What is in it

  • Transport information taken from your approved SDS records, never retyped
  • Orders from your ERPs joined with that information for each line
  • Bookings and shipping document data sent to the carriers and your warehouse system
  • Mismatches held for a person before anything leaves the dock
  • A log of every message, with alerts when one fails

// Stack

  • Node.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • OpenAPI
  • ERP APIs
  • Carrier booking APIs
  • AWS Canada

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Does the hub decide how a chemical is classified for transport?

No. Classification comes from your approved SDS records and your trained staff. The hub only carries the data so it is not retyped.

Which carriers can the dangerous goods hub connect to?

Those with a published booking API, which most large carriers have. We check yours before we quote.

What happens when a carrier's API is down?

The booking waits in a queue and is retried, and your staff get an alert if it waits too long.
