Software for the grid

Built for the field, the control room and the back office.

Your inspections are on paper, your procedures are in binders and your forecasts live in spreadsheets that one analyst understands. We build the systems around them: apps for your field crews, assistants for your operators, models that forecast load and records nobody can count twice.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Inspections that end in a spreadsheet

Pole, line and substation inspections are done on paper or a dated tablet app, and findings reach the work plan late, often without photos or a location.

02

Procedures nobody can find fast

Switching procedures, operating instructions and equipment manuals fill shelves and shared drives, and an operator needs the right one now.

03

Forecasts that miss the new load

Heat pumps, EV chargers and rooftop solar change demand feeder by feeder, and a forecast built on old peaks misses it.

04

Certificates counted twice

Renewable attributes are tracked in spreadsheets between generators and buyers, and nobody can prove a megawatt-hour was not sold twice.

// example projects

Systems we could build for you.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Line crew inspection app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A distribution utility inspects poles, lines and transformers on paper forms, and defects reach the work plan late, often missing photos and locations.

// What we would build

An iOS and Android app for inspectors and crews that works offline on a map of the network, with structured inspections, photos and defects that become work orders, and a web back office for planners tied to the GIS and the asset system.

// What is in it

  • Tools, spares and vehicles tracked by QR code and GPS across service areas
  • Inspection forms per asset type, on a map of the network from your GIS
  • Defects with photos, location and priority, raised at the pole
  • Work orders created from defects and dispatched to crews
  • Offline maps and forms for areas with no coverage
  • Sync with your asset management system, such as SAP or Maximo
  • Dashboards of open defects by circuit and priority

Control room assistant

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Control room operators and field supervisors search binders and shared drives for the right switching procedure, operating instruction or manual, often in the middle of an event.

// What we would build

An assistant that answers from your own procedures, operating instructions and past switching orders, citing the document and section, on an open-source model running on a server inside your network so nothing touches the internet. It reads and cites; it never operates equipment.

// What is in it

  • Procedures, instructions and manuals indexed and kept in step with the document system
  • Answers that cite the document, revision and section
  • Superseded revisions excluded, so only current procedures are quoted
  • Evaluation set of real operator questions, run before every change
  • An open-source model on a GPU server inside your network
  • No connection to operational control systems

Renewable certificate ledger

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

An energy retailer buys renewable output from several independent generators and resells the attributes to corporate customers, and tracking it in spreadsheets means nobody can prove a certificate was not sold twice.

// What we would build

A private permissioned ledger where generators, the retailer and an independent verifier each run a node: metered output becomes certificates, each certificate is assigned or retired once, and customers get a statement they can check. Where an official tracking registry covers your market it stays the record of title, and this ledger handles the contracts and matching around it; if one party is trusted by all, a database does the same for less.

// What is in it

  • Metered generation imported from revenue meters and turned into certificates
  • Each certificate assigned or retired once, with its history kept
  • A verifier node that confirms meter data before certificates are issued
  • Customer statements with generator, period and certificate numbers
  • Reconciliation with the official registry where one applies
  • Reports for customers' emissions disclosures

Feeder load forecast model

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A distribution planner forecasts load per feeder from last year's peaks, while heat pumps, EV chargers and rooftop solar change demand faster than the spreadsheet can follow.

// What we would build

A custom forecasting model, fine-tuned from an open time-series foundation model on your own meter, feeder and weather history, that forecasts load per feeder for the days and seasons ahead, with a web view for planners. A custom model fits because the patterns are yours and the data is sensitive; it is retrained as new meter data arrives.

// What is in it

  • Feeder, smart meter and weather history cleaned and joined
  • A time-series model fine-tuned on your data and measured against held-out periods
  • Forecasts per feeder with a range, not a single line
  • Heat pump, EV and solar adoption scenarios set by the planner
  • Retraining on a schedule as new data arrives

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work with small utilities and producers?

Yes. Municipal utilities, co-ops and independent producers often need the same systems on a smaller scale, and the estimator prices them that way.

Can you meet our security requirements?

We build to the requirements your security team sets, such as NERC CIP for systems near the grid, and keep operational control systems out of scope unless you decide otherwise.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the code and the models?

You do, once the work is paid for, including forecasting models trained on your meter data.
