Web3 for games

Player-owned items and markets, where they make sense.

On-chain items help when players genuinely want to trade outside your game and you want those trades safe and visible. If items never leave your game, a database is cheaper and simpler, and we will tell you so before we build anything on a chain.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

Your rules in the contract

Transfer limits, trading windows and fees you set are written into the contract, not left to outside marketplaces.

02

Audited before launch

The contracts are reviewed by an independent auditor before any player holds an item.

03

Wallets optional

Players who do not want a wallet keep a regular account; those who do can sign in with one.

04

Items, not investments

Items are part of the game. We do not design them, or describe them, as a way to make money.

Player-owned items on-chain

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Players want to keep and trade rare items they earn, but trades happen on outside sites full of scams, and the studio cannot see or stop them.

// What we would build

Rare items issued as tokens on a public chain with audited smart contracts, a marketplace where players trade with wallet sign-in, and the game reading ownership from the chain. If items never need to leave your game, your own database does this better, and we will say so.

// What is in it

  • Smart contracts for items, with your rules on transfers built in
  • A marketplace site with wallet sign-in and a regular account option
  • The game server reads ownership from the chain
  • An independent audit of the contracts before launch
  • Items designed as part of the game, never sold as investments

// Stack

  • Solidity
  • An EVM layer two network
  • wagmi and viem
  • Next.js
  • PostgreSQL indexer

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Which chain should game items live on?

Usually a low-fee EVM layer two network, so trades cost players very little. We choose with you based on where your players already are.

When should a studio not put items on a chain?

When items never need to leave your game. A database is faster, cheaper and easier to change, and we would recommend it.

Do game item contracts raise regulatory questions?

They can, depending on how items are sold and traded and where your players are. We design with your legal advisers and keep items as game content.
