Resident help centres

Answers for residents in the languages they speak.

Social housing residents speak many languages, and the office phone carries the cost. A help centre in those languages, with an assistant that answers only from your own articles, takes the routine questions and passes the rest to your staff with the conversation attached.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

Your articles, in their languages

Articles written in plain English and French, then translated with a native review into the languages you choose.

02

Answers only from your articles

The assistant cites the article it used and says when it does not know, rather than guessing.

03

A person when it matters

Arrears, disputes and anything personal go to staff, with the conversation attached so nobody repeats themselves.

04

Gaps you can see

Unanswered questions land in a review queue, so staff know which article to write next.

Resident help centre in several languages

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A social housing provider's residents speak a dozen languages, the office phone rings all day with the same questions about rent, repairs and rules, and the written guides exist only in English.

// What we would build

A help centre with articles on rent, repairs, rules, moving and community programs, in the languages your residents speak, and an assistant that answers from those articles and hands over to staff with the conversation attached. We use a frontier model through its API, because the traffic is modest and the articles are public; resident details stay out of what the model sees.

// What is in it

  • Help articles on rent, repairs, rules and moving, written in plain language
  • Articles in English, French and the other languages your residents use
  • An assistant that answers only from the articles and says when it does not know
  • Hand-over to staff with the conversation attached
  • Repair requests opened from the chat into your work order system
  • A review queue so staff see unanswered questions and add articles

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Which languages can the resident help centre offer?

The ones your residents speak. Articles are translated and reviewed by native speakers, and the assistant answers in the resident's language.

Does the housing assistant see resident files?

No. It answers from public articles only. Anything about a resident's own tenancy goes to staff.

Can residents open a repair request from the help centre?

Yes, if your work order system has an API. The request arrives with the unit and the conversation attached.
