Nonprofit software

Every dollar counted, every donor answered.

Your charity runs on a few staff, many volunteers and funders who each want a different report. We build the apps, assistants and portals that take hours of admin off your small team. Each is scoped to what you can afford to run after we leave.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Donors and volunteers split up

Donations are in one system, volunteer shifts in a spreadsheet and the newsletter list in a third, so nobody can see that a monthly donor also volunteers every Saturday.

02

Grant applications from scratch

Every funding cycle, staff rewrite the same organisational history, program descriptions and outcomes from old documents scattered across a shared drive.

03

A different report for every funder

Program data is gathered on paper and in spreadsheets, then reshaped by hand into each funder's template at year end.

04

Donors who want to give in crypto

Some supporters hold digital assets and would give them, but the organisation has no safe way to accept them or to receipt the gift properly.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Donor and volunteer app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A charity keeps donors, volunteers and event sign-ups in separate tools, so supporters get duplicate emails and staff cannot see a person's whole relationship with the organisation.

// What we would build

A web and mobile app where supporters give once or monthly, sign up for volunteer shifts and events and manage their own details, with an admin side that shows each person's giving and volunteering together and issues receipts.

// What is in it

  • Gifts posted to QuickBooks Online by fund, built on the QuickBooks Online API
  • One-time and monthly giving through your payment processor, with receipts issued automatically
  • Volunteer shifts with sign-up, reminders and check-in on the day
  • Supporters update their own details and email preferences
  • One record per person across giving, volunteering and events
  • English and French for supporters

Grant writing assistant

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Staff spend days on each grant application rewriting history, program descriptions and outcomes they have already written many times.

// What we would build

An assistant that answers a funder's questions from the organisation's own past proposals, annual reports and program documents, citing the source for each passage, on a frontier model because the material is not sensitive, the volume is small and it is the least costly route.

// What is in it

  • Past proposals, annual reports and program descriptions indexed
  • First versions of answers to a funder's questions, citing the documents used
  • Word limits and each funder's terms kept in view
  • No beneficiary or donor personal data in the library or the prompts
  • Staff review and edit every answer before it is submitted

Impact reporting portal

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Program staff record attendance and outcomes on paper and in spreadsheets, and someone spends weeks each year turning them into a different report for each funder.

// What we would build

A simple web portal where program staff record sessions and outcomes once, with dashboards for the board and exports shaped to each funder's template, so year-end reporting is a download rather than a project.

// What is in it

  • Session, attendance and outcome entry built for program staff, on a phone or a laptop
  • Outcome measures defined by your team, not by the software
  • Dashboards for staff and the board
  • Exports shaped to each funder's reporting template
  • Participant privacy protected by role, with personal data kept to a minimum

Crypto donations with receipts

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

Supporters offer gifts of cryptocurrency, but the charity has no safe way to accept them, no record of their value on the day and no process for receipts.

// What we would build

A donation page where supporters give from their own wallet to an address the charity controls, with each gift recorded with its value on the day and passed to the finance team for receipting. Many charities are better served by a donation platform that converts crypto for them, and we will say so when that fits.

// What is in it

  • A donation page with wallet connection on the main networks
  • Gifts sent to a multisig wallet the charity controls, not held by us
  • Each gift recorded with the market value at the time it was received
  • Donor details collected for receipting, with consent
  • A finance view to reconcile gifts and hand them to your accountant

Program and donor data in one place

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A charity's donor records, program attendance and grant budgets sit in three systems, and every funder report starts with a week of copying numbers between spreadsheets.

A data store that loads donor, program and finance data every night with agreed definitions, so dashboards for staff and the board and the figures in each funder report come from the same place, with personal details visible only to those who need them.

Newcomer help in clients' own languages

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A settlement agency's clients speak many languages, its website and intake forms are in English and French, and front-line staff spend much of the day helping people fill in forms.

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work with small charities?

Yes. We scope to what you can run after launch, and often start with one piece that saves the most staff time. We are in British Columbia and work with organisations anywhere; prices are in Canadian dollars.

Can the work be phased to match our funding?

Yes. We can split a project into phases that each deliver something usable, so it can follow grant cycles.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the code and the data?

You do, once the work is paid for, including every supporter and program record.

// where we work

Find your market.

We work from Kelowna with clients across Canada, the United States and further afield. Each market page covers working hours, hosting, the privacy law that applies, and prices in your currency.
