Telecom field apps

Dispatch and install apps that work where signal is weak.

General field service tools do not know what a modem, a drop or a provisioning system is. We build the dispatch board and the technician app around your installs and repairs, and connect them to the billing and provisioning systems that turn a finished job into a working service.

// what matters here

What is different in this industry.

01

Activated at the door

The technician scans the modem or ONT and the app activates it through provisioning, so the customer is online before the truck leaves.

02

Offline where the signal is weak

Jobs, notes and photos are kept on the phone and sent once back in range, which matters in basements, rural roads and new subdivisions.

03

Dispatch by skill and area

Jobs are matched to technicians by skill, area and appointment window, with changes pushed to the phone at once.

04

A record of every install

Signal readings, photos and the customer's sign-off are stored with the job, so a repeat visit starts with what was found last time.

Example projectWeb appMobile app

Technician app with dispatch

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A regional ISP schedules installs and repairs by phone, and technicians report back by text, so the office never knows where a job stands or which modem went to which home.

// What we would build

A dispatch board for the office and an iOS and Android app for technicians, connected to the billing and provisioning systems, so a job is assigned, completed and activated without a phone call.

// What is in it

  • Dispatch board with jobs on a map, by skill, area and appointment window
  • Technician app with the job, the customer's service and the equipment to install
  • Serial numbers scanned at the install, activated through provisioning
  • Photos, signal readings and customer sign-off stored with the job
  • Works offline in basements and rural roads, syncs once back in range
  • Customer notified when the technician is on the way

// Stack

  • Next.js
  • React Native
  • PostgreSQL with PostGIS
  • Billing and provisioning interfaces
  • AWS

// questions

Questions we get about this.

Can technicians activate equipment on site?

Yes, if your provisioning system has an interface we can call. We confirm what it allows during discovery and build the activation step around it.

Do contractors need their own login?

Yes, each with a role that shows only their own jobs and the customer details they need for them.

Will it replace our ticketing system?

Usually not. It reads jobs from your ticketing or order system and writes the outcome back, so the system of record stays the same.

Not quite your project?

Tell us what you have in mind. We will come back to you with a range and the questions that would narrow it. Or book a call and talk it through.
