Clean energy software

Chargers, panels and batteries on one screen, any maker.

Your chargers come from three makers. Your solar sites are watched in three vendor portals, and your subscribers are billed from a spreadsheet. That is a business run in tabs. We build the systems that join it: a charging platform on open protocols, monitoring across makers and billing that follows the meter.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Chargers from several makers

Each charger maker has its own portal and its own reading of the protocol, so the network's uptime, sessions and faults are three exports pasted together.

02

Sites watched in vendor portals

Inverters, turbines and batteries each report to their maker's cloud, and nobody sees the whole fleet's performance against what it should be producing.

03

Subscribers billed by hand

Community solar credits and power purchase agreement invoices are worked out from meter exports in a spreadsheet, and each billing run is a week of checking.

04

Interconnection in the inbox

Applications, studies and utility correspondence for each project sit in email threads, and the date a project is waiting on is in someone's head.

// example projects

Systems we could build for you.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

EV charging and a driver app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A charge point operator runs chargers from several makers through their separate portals, cannot offer roaming, and drivers pay with a card reader that fails in the cold.

// What we would build

A charging station management system speaking OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 to every charger, OCPI roaming with other networks, and an iOS and Android driver app to find a charger, start a session and pay, with pricing and faults managed from one web console.

// What is in it

  • OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 for chargers from several makers, tested model by model
  • Live status, sessions, faults and remote resets in one console
  • Driver app to find, reserve, start and pay, in English and French
  • OCPI roaming so drivers from partner networks can charge, and yours can roam
  • Pricing by time, energy and idle time, with payments through a processor's hosted checkout

// Stack

  • Node.js OCPP server
  • OCPI 2.2.1
  • React Native
  • Next.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS

Renewable fleet monitoring

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

An independent power producer watches its sites in each maker's portal, finds underperformance at month end, and its technicians search old work orders for how a fault was fixed.

// What we would build

One monitoring dashboard that reads every site through the makers' APIs, compares output with what the weather says it should be, and an assistant on an open-source model hosted in the producer's cloud that answers from manuals and past work orders, citing them.

// What is in it

  • Inverters, turbines and battery systems read through their makers' APIs
  • Expected output from irradiance and wind data, with gaps flagged daily
  • Alarms grouped by site and cause, not one email per fault
  • An assistant that answers from manuals and work orders and cites them
  • An open-source model served on GPUs in your own cloud account

Community solar billing portal

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A community solar co-operative works out each subscriber's credits from meter exports in a spreadsheet, and members email to ask what they are owed.

// What we would build

A subscriber portal and a billing engine that allocates each month's production to subscribers by their share, issues statements, takes payments and posts invoices and payments to QuickBooks Online, built on the QuickBooks Online API.

// What is in it

  • Production read from the site's monitoring, month by month
  • Allocation to subscribers by share, with every adjustment logged
  • Member portal with statements, payments and production history
  • Invoices and payments synced both ways with QuickBooks Online

Hourly energy certificates

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A producer and its corporate buyers want to match consumption with clean production hour by hour, and each keeps its own spreadsheet of which megawatt-hours were claimed.

// What we would build

Hourly certificates for each site's metered production, issued on a private permissioned ledger that the producer, the buyers and an independent verifier each run a node of, so a megawatt-hour cannot be claimed twice. We make no claim about what a certificate is worth.

// What is in it

  • Metered production read hourly from each site
  • One certificate per hour of production, issued once and retired once
  • Buyers see what they hold and what they have retired
  • A node for the producer, each main buyer and the verifier
  • Exports for the buyer's sustainability reporting

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work with networks and producers abroad?

Yes. We are in British Columbia and work with clients anywhere; prices are in Canadian dollars.

Do you supply chargers or inverters?

No. We build the software and integrate with the hardware you choose, through open protocols and the makers' published APIs, without any partnership with them.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the platform?

You do, once the work is paid for, including the charger integrations and the models.

// where we work

Find your market.

We work from Kelowna with clients across Canada, the United States and further afield. Each market page covers working hours, hosting, the privacy law that applies, and prices in your currency.
