Craft drinks apps

From the cellar to the club member's door.

Your members want their allocation without a phone call, your tasting room fills up on weekends, and your sales sit in four systems that never agree. We build the club apps, booking pages, cellar tools and dashboards that keep a craft producer running, connected to the shop and point of sale you already use.

// what you are up against

The problems we hear most.

01

Members who drift away

Club members hear from you when a shipment is charged, and little in between, so cancellations come quietly after a card declines.

02

A tasting room booked by phone

Weekend tastings are booked by phone and email, groups turn up unannounced, and staff juggle a paper list at the bar.

03

Cellar records in spreadsheets

Tanks, barrels, blends and bottling runs live in spreadsheets and an old desktop program only one person knows how to use.

04

Sales in four places

The point of sale, the online shop, distributor reports and club billing each hold part of the picture, and none of them add up the same way.

// example projects

Systems we could build for you.

Each one is hypothetical, labelled as such, and priced live from our rate card. Open any of them in the estimator and make it yours.

Club and allocation app

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A winery runs its club from its online shop's back office, so members cannot change a shipment or claim an allocation without emailing, and declined cards are found weeks later.

// What we would build

A members' web and mobile app for shipments, allocations and pickups, with the club's billing, card updates and shipping rules behind it, connected to the shop and the point of sale.

// What is in it

  • Members choose, swap or skip bottles before each shipment
  • Allocations of limited releases, claimed in the app
  • Card updates before billing day, with reminders
  • Pickup or shipping, with the rules for each province or state you ship to
  • Club tiers, member pricing and events
  • Connected to your online shop and point of sale

Tasting room booking

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A brewery's taproom and tours are booked by phone, groups arrive without warning on busy Saturdays, and the website's booking page looks nothing like the brand.

// What we would build

A booking experience designed around the brand: tastings, tours and private groups booked online with deposits, a live list for staff at the bar, and every booking added to the point of sale.

// What is in it

  • Tastings, tours and private events booked online with deposits
  • Group sizes and time slots that match your room
  • A live list for staff, with arrivals and notes
  • Reminders and a simple way to change a booking
  • Pages designed to look and feel like your brand

Cellar and production records

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A distillery keeps barrels, batches and bottling runs in spreadsheets and a desktop program from years ago that runs on one office computer and no longer gets updates.

// What we would build

A web app for the office and an Android app for the floor that replace the old program and the spreadsheets: every tank, barrel, batch and bottling run recorded where the work happens, with the old records moved across and checked.

// What is in it

  • Tanks, barrels and batches, each with its full history
  • Readings and photos recorded on the floor
  • Blends and bottling runs worked out from what is in the cellar
  • Reports for your own records and the figures your returns ask for
  • Old records moved from the desktop program and spreadsheets

Depletion and sales dashboard

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A craft brewery gets distributor depletion reports as spreadsheets in different shapes, and nobody can say which accounts are growing until the quarter is over.

// What we would build

A dashboard that reads distributor reports, the point of sale and the online shop into one model, so sales by account, region and product are current and comparable.

// What is in it

  • Distributor reports read in, whatever shape they arrive in
  • Taproom, online and wholesale sales side by side
  • Accounts by growth, decline and last order
  • Products and packages by region
  • Exports for your sales team and your accountant

Sales systems hub

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A winery types orders from its shop into the shipping system, club charges into the accounting system, and stock counts into everything, by hand, every week.

// What we would build

A small integration hub between the online shop, the point of sale, the shipping provider and the accounting system, so an order, a charge or a stock change is entered once and flows to the rest.

// What is in it

  • Orders from the shop and club sent to shipping on their own
  • Sales and charges posted to your accounting system
  • Stock kept in step between the shop and the point of sale
  • A log of every message, with alerts when something fails
  • Documented, so the next system is easy to add

Provenance for rare releases

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A distillery sells numbered bottles of a rare release, and resale buyers have no way to check that a bottle is genuine and came from the distillery.

// What we would build

Each numbered bottle is registered when it is filled, on a private ledger run by the distillery and the retailers who sell the release, with a public page where a buyer checks a bottle by its code. If the distillery alone keeps the register and buyers trust it, a database with the same public page is simpler, and we will say so.

// What is in it

  • Each numbered bottle registered at bottling
  • A public check page for buyers, by code
  • Transfers recorded when a retailer sells a bottle
  • No bottle can be added or changed by one party alone
  • Members see the bottles they own in their club account

Visitor and member assistant

Hypothetical. Not a client, not a result.

// The problem

A winery in a tourist region answers the same questions about hours, tastings, shipping and club rules all season, in English, French and other languages, mostly after closing.

// What we would build

A help centre written from the winery's own information, and an assistant on the website that answers from it in the visitor's language and hands anything else to staff. It uses a frontier model through its API: the information is public, visitors write in many languages, and traffic is low.

// What is in it

  • A help centre on visits, tastings, shipping and the club
  • Answers in the visitor's language, from your own pages
  • Questions it cannot answer passed to staff by email
  • No card or member details in the conversation
  • Your team edits the help centre without a developer

// by service

Go deeper on one kind of work.

Pages for the services we have the most to say about in this industry.

// questions

What buyers in this industry ask us.

Do you work with small, family-run producers?

Yes. A booking page, a club app or a dashboard suits a single producer, and the estimator shows the range for your scope.

Can you work with our shop or point of sale vendor?

Yes. We work through their interface and agree the boundary with them early.

How do payments work?

A deposit to start, then payments at agreed milestones, with 10% held until 30 days after launch. The deposit is a smaller share on larger projects.

Who owns the code?

You do, once the work is paid for.

// where we work

Find your market.

We work from Kelowna with clients across Canada, the United States and further afield. Each market page covers working hours, hosting, the privacy law that applies, and prices in your currency.
